United Nurseries are proud to grow Digger's Heirloom seed and present seedlings for the home gardener to grow in their vegetable garden.

Vegetables listed as Heirloom are special. The seeds have been carefully saved and collected over generations, either by individuals or seed houses. These varieties of vegetables have been recognized worthy of taste and texture, to be handed down generation to generation. Heirloom vegetables have more flavour than the commercially grown. Commercially grown vegetables have been bred to ripen simultaneously, uniformity of size, shape, colour and hardiness to satisfy transport requirements, in preference to taste.

• Mini capsicum with thick flesh, dark chocolate on the outside and deep burgundy inside when ripe.

• Early maturing, delicately striped eggplant,
• Space-saving, heavy bearing, 30cm bush.

Digger’s Green Zebra

• High yields, maturing early to mid season.
• Apricot-sized fruit. Fruit turn yellow when ripe.

• A prolific-bearing pale yellow, cherry tomato for a sophisticated palate

• Perfect for drying and salads.

Digger's Heirloom Beetroot

The beetroots in the mix can be used in combination with each other or individually, either way they taste and look fantastic. The mix includes:

• The green and red ribbed leaves make a colourful addition to salads,

• Digger’s lettuce has been chosen from a mix of:
Lettuce Australian Yellow Leaf with chartreuse green leaves.
Lettuce Flame with red leaves, has the advantage that it is slow to bolt
Lettuce Goldrush with lime green, curled and crinkled leaves, has great texture.
Lettuce Freckles has an interesting freckled pattern.
